Art Gallery Application

Thank you for your interest in participating in the Catalyst Studios x Westborn AfroTech Houston Art Gallery.

​

This two-night curated exhibition will take place November 3–4, 2026 from 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM at ShareSpace Navigation in Houston, Texas during AfroTech week—one of the largest gatherings of Black professionals, entrepreneurs, innovators, and creatives in the country.

​

Unlike a traditional gallery, this event is designed as a cultural experience that brings together visual art, storytelling, networking, music, and community. Our goal is to create meaningful opportunities for artists to connect with new audiences, build relationships, sell work, and become part of a growing creative ecosystem.

​

This year's exhibition will feature a curated selection of artists working across a variety of mediums, including painting, photography, mixed media, sculpture, digital art, and fashion-based installations.

​

Selected artists will have the opportunity to:

  • Showcase work to a diverse audience of professionals, founders, creatives, and collectors

  • Sell original artwork through our integrated sales platform

  • Be featured in event photography and media coverage

  • Build connections with artists, buyers, and community leaders

  • Participate in future Catalyst Studios opportunities​

Please review the event information carefully before applying. Submission does not guarantee acceptance. All applications will be reviewed by the Catalyst Studios and Westborn team based on artistic quality, fit with the exhibition theme, medium, space requirements, and overall curation goals.

Artists selected for the exhibition will receive a formal acceptance email with participation details, invoice information, artwork deadlines, and next steps.

Artist Participation Options
Artists selected for the exhibition will be invited to participate in one of two tiers.

 

Showcase Artist

$150 Participation Fee

  • Up to 2 artworks

  • One event night

  • Standard exhibition placement

  • Artwork available for sale

  • Artist listing on event page & social media

  • 15% commission on sales
     

Optional Upgrade:
Both nights participation: +$75
 

Featured Artist

$275 Participation Fee

  • Up to 4 artworks

  • Both event nights

  • Priority placement

  • Website feature

  • Spotlight social media feature

  • Artist interview/content feature

  • 10% commission on sales
     

Please note:
Featured Artist placement is limited and determined through the curatorial review process. Selecting Featured Artist does not guarantee acceptance into that tier.

Exhibition Theme Requirement

Please note that selected artists will be required to include at least one artwork that responds to this year's exhibition theme.

The official theme will be announced following artist selection and acceptance.

​

Artists may submit existing work for consideration through this application. Selected artists will have several months following acceptance to create, adapt, or designate a themed piece for the exhibition.
